More Bike Riding

Well Sally didn't make it out bike riding again this weekend, so being the kind considerate boyfriend that I am, I went without her :-)

On the drive over there I saw what looked like an old porsche owners rally going on, and some streets in Tempe were closed off and a lot of very expensive, professional looking cyclists were all racing away.

I started down at the south end of Scottsdale's parks at McKellips and Hayden. and headed north through Yavapai Park, Vista Del Camino Park, Eldorado park, Coronado Golf Course, Continental Golf Course, Indian School Park, Chaparral Park, Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt, before turning east and following the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club and a canal, as shown above left! I ended up on Pima Rd (by the 101 freeway) & E Indian Bend Rd, a total of just under 8 miles out according to Google Maps, and just across the street from a Guitar Center store. Good job I didn't have any bungee cords on me, or I might have had a guitar strapped to my bike on the journey back!

Although I had the option to follow the canal out east, I decided to turn around at Pima Rd, and I'm glad I did. It was already in the 90º's and heading for the 100º's, and there's not a lot of cover on this trail. I finally made it back to the truck just as I was sucking the last dregs of water out of my Camelback - perfect timing! Now I know my Camelback is only good for 16 mile trips.
