Our First Scorpion

Sitting on the couch this morning, Sally notices something weird up above us where the wall meets the ceiling. "Whats that?" she says. "Looks like some dust, I'll get it later" I reply. An hour later, Sally notices that the dust has moved a foot and is now in the corner of the room. I finally decide to stand on the couch and try and get a closer look, only to come face to face with a small, light colored scorpion! The smaller & lighter they are, the more poisonous they are, or so Sally tells me.

Luckily we recently bought a Dyson hand vacuum, which I used to suck the scorpion off the wall. Then with a flick of the Dysons quick release switch, he's off down the garbage disposal's whirling blades of death. I guess we made it 9 months in our new home before seeing a scorpion, I just hope this wasn't a warning sign of a nest underneath our house!

At least we should be able to get our money back from our bug sprayer company - their spray stuff obviously didn't work on this little guy.

7 Year Anniversary

How time flies. This Sunday was Our 7 year anniversary together, and to celebrate we decided to stay ay the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort for the night. As the temperature is already in the 100’s we were all about the pool, and there are plenty of them. Each building has it’s own pool with built in hot tub and swim up bar. But then there is the Hole-in-the-Wall River Ranch with acres of pools, waterfalls, a lazy river for tubing & a water-slide! Fantastic.
